Weiss as its new vice president of North American sales and marketing. Weiss will begin his new duties on May 1, and approximately one-third of the 220-person software company will report to him. "Warren is a strong addition to our new senior management team," said Steven P. Jobs, chairman, president and CEO of NeXT. "Warren was our first choice among several talented candidates, and he has just the right sales and marketing experience to help us chart our new course as a software company." Weiss will report directly to Jobs, joining Bernhard Woebker, vice president of European operations; Brett Bachman, director of product marketing; Paul Hegarty, director of engineering; and Jean-Marie Hullot, chief technical officer. NeXT is in the process of recruiting a chief financial officer to complete its new senior management team. Background on Weiss Weiss, 36, has a distinguished career in marketing and sales management for software companies. Most recently, he was vice president of North American operations for Continuum, a $127 million software and outsourcing company specializing in the financial services industry. Weiss grew his sales from $17 million to $60 million in one year, as well as starting the company's outsourcing business from scratch. From 1980 to 1991, Weiss was with Dun & Bradstreet Software, where he began as an account executive and rose to vice president and general manager. Weiss was the youngest vice president and officer in the history of the company, with responsiblity for a $100 million business with 400 employees.
